Can a CA check your credit without permission? On my mother's report she has a hard pull from United Recovery system and it says it is for collection purpose. It doesn't say what debt they were pulling for but it is not a creditor she currently has. I thought you had to give permission for someone to check your credit? Can someone trying to collect a debt pull it without permission?
If a CA has a valid, open account, they can check your credit report. Some CA's well check it all the time just b/c they can...
