Hi, I have a regular Citi platinum select and a world AA card. Both of them began as being gold and silver AA cards, but that doesn't matter much. After getting low credit limit upgrades using CSR, I want to go BDD. Does anyone know if my world AA would prevent me from geting another regular AA card? And if not, can I get both the gold and silver? Thanks, -Roman
I DON'T KNOW...everybody said DON'T get the "WORLD" card... I don't know how the BDD is when you already have the "WORLD" card...
It's always a good idea to merge both Cards, then apply for gold and silver again (1 inquiry two cards). That way if you are lucky and get both the Silver and Gold AA you can pick and choose afterwords. Always apply for the gold before silver, before the Golds generally have a higher line, and if they only approve one its first come first serve. good luck it still works btw.
Thanks Sam, While merging is sound advice , I would still like to keep them both. One for the great APR, and the other for the miles and travel benefits. I'm not desperate for the credit, and would like to keep the history for both cards. I think I read in an old thread that someone with a world AA managed to do the BDD, that would be my best option. But I wouldn't want another inquiry for this just to get rejected... -Roman
I applied for an AA when I already had a regular AA and got a letter that I have the maximum number of cards. Cost me two inquiries with Equifax. Switched over to world a couple of months ago, So maybe the situation is different now. How did u get two AA cards? If its by BDD then it doesn't really count -Roman
whaddya mean it doesn't count?? I got an AA silver, converted to platinum, then applied for gold and silver again and got both. Then combined all, then applied for gold and silver again and got both... the stories goes on until i am where i am now with a $25K limit plat select.. Now i get the "You have the maximum credit line we are going to give you" line, no increases possible, no more cards possible (without splitting the line).
