    OC = Cable Company
    CA #1 = Credit Management
    CA #2 = Collecto

    CA #1 - I sent a DV letter 07/12. They sent me copy of OC's acct ledger that shows that I owed $500 as of 6/5/10 and then shows that it was written off on 9/26/10 and shows a statement balance of $0 on 10/12/10. I received the validation in the mail from CA#1 one day and the next week CA#1 magically disappears from my credit reports and I get a letter from CA#2.

    What should be my next step? Do I send CA#2 a copy of the statement showing I owe $0, or do I have to DV CA#2?

    Send a DV letter to CA #2 as well. The OC reporting a $0 balance simply means that they've charged off the debt and sold it.

    Second Josh.

    IF the CA PURCHASED the debt, then your account with the OC would have no balance.
