Sorry for the double question but I want to ask this while it's fresh in my mind.

My husband pulled his reports when I did and there are several accounts that are noted: Closed by the Consumer. One is a Visa card that I don't recognize at all and the other is from a men's clothing store that went out of business years ago. He had nothing due them when they closed shop but the notation on the report is UNDESIGNATED. What the heck is Undesignated?

    Can these be removed?

    Thanks so much.

CLOSED BY CONSUMER IS OK...just leave them.

UNDESIGNATED means they don't know weather it is a "JOINT" or "INDIVIDUAL" or "AUTHORIZED USER"...OR THE TYPE OF BUSINESS IS NOT REPORTED...

VISA/MC accounts are sold and resold so you may not recognize the name.

OLD, PAID, NEVER LATE, ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER HISTORY HELPS...
IF YOU DELETE ALL OLD HISTORY, THAT IS A F.I.C.O. KILLER

REASON CODE [Length of revolving credit history is too short] CUT AND PASTED ABOUT F.I.C.O.

I disputed (by accident) a closed account, about 8 months ago closed, and it went buh-bye. No derogs on it. I guess i wasn't paying attention with equifax. No biggie.
