Can I close an account the day the annual fee is scheduled to hit my account ? I am closing FCNB and I called and was told that the card will be 1 year the 1st of May...I want the points for having an account opened for exactly one year but I do not want to pay the annual fee...Can I get around this ?? I want to do the same thing in June with CCB
Just pay in full a couple of weeks before that date...when that date comes...CLOSE IT...tell them "I PAID THIS OFF ALREADY...SO PLEASE CREDIT THE ANNUAL FEE ON MY ACCOUNT"
...MORE...if you really don't want to DUMP the card~~~"I WOULD KEEP THE CARD IF YOU MADE IT NO ANNUAL FEE" ...and while your at it...ask for a credit limit increase...
I emailed FCNB today to see if they will dump my annual fee.I told them i would close the account if the annual fee was not waived. I'll let everyone know how it goes...
Re: Can I Close A Card The Day The I really want to get rid of the card..They have done nothing for me in the last year....And I have 6 total bank cards now and I slowly want to get rid of 2...Thanks for the advice...I think I will just do exactloy what u suggested..But they will bill me for the Annual fee on May 1st as well...
Re: Can I Close A Card The Day The Good idea..They probably will not be able to close the card until the 2nd of May..I just hope and pray that after I close the account and pull my bureau it does say that the account was closed in May and not April
