Getting ripped off by ex-apartment complex. We moved and they charged me for cleaning and other various BS. The total was $118. I was never notified and they did receive notification of my new address. It was sold to a CA. It's now showing on my CR.

Can I dispute or validate this with the CA? Would a regular validation letter work as a start? Any help would be appreciated.

What does your state law say about timely written notification of tenants of charges following moving out? Some states require such notification within 20 to 30 days, or it is illegal to collect them.
