Recently I received my credit report from CSC. I scanned it and saw some things that needed or are being disputed. This is what confuses me. My ex and I came out of Chapter 13 bankruptcy in November 1999. Some of the accounts (credit cards) that were listed in the bankruptcy are not listed as being in the bankruptcy on the credit report. The other thing that confuses me - we filed for bankruptcy in November 1995 - the date of last activity rangers from 7/94 until 3/96 but a couple of them show the date reported as 7/00 or 8/00. The bankruptcy was discharged November 1999. Why are these creditors still reporting? Now that the bankruptcy has been completed, how long will it take for those items to come off my report?

RE: Info for twoston From what I know from filing ch.7, you're bankruptcy needs to be discharged, which took me 3 months or so. Then I think it takes from 7-10 years but the law, I understand says 7 years, but start working on it sooner than that by writing letters to removed them. I do know that if there has not been any activity on a specific account for seven years, it automatically should come off upon request.
