Basic education about everything from balancing a check book to what goes into a credit score is needed.

The main thing you should be worried about is how you represent yourself. Be careful caues you could run into problems like BBauer and the likes. If you give someone advice on how to attack their credit problems, what if it doesn't work out? Or what if they end up screwing things up worse than they were? Next thing you know, they're trying to blame you. I don't know if it's worth the trouble.

If I were going to do community type counseling I would only go with what is on the books Iwould not even tell them about our stash of letters. It could have some liability for you and the consumer , this I do not need. But what is ever on he books as far as laws, I'll go for it everyone I would not think twice about sharing my knowlwedge. Every should be knowledgeable about credit laws including credit reporting laws.

After thinking about it during the week, I've decided I'm going to do basic counseling on the rights of the consumer and debunking the common credit myths.
