Can I use Dunn & Bradd # on credit apps in place of social security?

I spoke with Dunn & Bradd's credit services and the rep told me when I start applying for credit, I could put my DB # in place of social so I can seperate business from personal. I haven't done so because I almost think it's wrong info? He said the tax ID goes right back to our social and will still be looked at as personal, which makes sense but I am afraid to apply with a DB# on apps that asks for social #'s.

Any small business credit card these days is going to require your SSN on the app too. If you don't include it on the application, they're going to come back and ask you for it. They want to be able to hold you accountable with a personal guarantee in the event your account takes a quick turn for the worse.
