I am a Stay-at-home mom and being that of course I do not work outside the home and I do not personally generate income.
I have a 755 Equifax score that was checked by Wells Fargo Financial and I was denied a furniture credit (90 days same as cash) at a kitchen/dining room store.
I am suspecting it is because I do not have an income. My husband is sole provider but they would have laughed if they saw HIS credit report. I cannot believe I qualified for a Platinum master card but not a measiliy $400 in store credit. I am guessing they can do that but it just goes to show you that each creditor is different and you may be suprised at what you are qualifed or disqualifyed for.

It might have something to do with credit cards excepting house hold income, and retail outlets just considering personal income. But who knows.

my wife got a credit card a few weeks back...and they wont add me as an authorized user because of my credit scores.
but..here is the kicker, she has no job. she even told them this up front.
so, Im paying her credit card bill and Im not even an authorized user!

    Diane,
Check to see if you can apply with "household income" For gold and platiinum credit cards there is usually a minimum income requirement.I think gold is about $12,000

Join the club...lol. My wife is a stay at home mom. I am the only one working in the household. She has total credit > 5800. I have around 2700. Go figure.
