Can the original crediter and the CA for the original crediter both report on your credit report for the same debt? On my credit report it shows an old debt that was charged off. That same debt is also reported by a CA. Would this be considered duplicate accounts? And now that I think about it, I believe I paid off the CA.
They are separate accounts, (OC & CA debt); as jlynn pointed out, if the CA is reporting, then the OC should be reporting a $0 balance w/notation of "Charged Off, Sold ot Transferred".

However, a debt collector may, with the express written authorization of the creditor, report to a consumer reporting agency in the creditor's name." Woofer
