Letter? I'm need to settle a debt from 1998. I'm having to do this so I can get a morgate. The debt is for 600.00 in 1998. I This SOL runs out this Sept. I was wondering if anyone could help me w/the a GREAT letter and how much I should offer them! This is the first time I've tried to neg. a debt. Can someone please help!!! If you don't have a letter can you give tips or pointers of what I should do? Thanks
I'd offer them 20 cents on the dollar. Most collection agencies buy debts for 25 cents on the dollar. Offer to settle for $120. That is equal to 20% of the total debt. I don't know how to word it, but try the sample letters section. As a side note, Please email me, I have a couple of things to talk to you about privately.
