I have sent letters to validate on a CA called Midland Credit Management twice and received back requests for more information on the acct? The acct has been purchased by them from another major bank I'm sending a 3rd letter to the CA and informed experian by phone that this was done and disputed the CA Line again but wanted to send experian those letters with my dispute and was told that i have to go to the bbb or attorney general and they can not remove them even if I had the letters under the FCRA? I asked them how they verify the CA Acct and was told that if the CA said the acct is open it is valid tp experian - Thats IT! So do i send a letter to experian on there way of verifying this acct? any help would be helpfully
I love this agency... My sister sent a validation letter to them, they sent the validation letter back, envelope and all saying that it must have been sent to the wrong company because they have no accounts for her. Two months later, she gets another collection letter from them, sends a copy of the original validation letter, and returned envelope, the cover letter they put on it, and another validation letter, and the new xollection letter, and addressed it to the *TWO* addresses which they listed on the letter, another copy to the personal attention of the employee who returned the original validation letter, and another copy to the personal attention of their corporate compliance officer. Citing continued collection activity on an unvalidated debt, and the false and misleading representation that their company had no accounts for her as grounds for suit.
Just talking with EX about an account is not disputing it with them, and demanding that they verify the account. You need to demand that they verify the account. What information is MCM claiming that they need, and why are they claiming that they need it, is it that they can't find the account, or something else?
After i sent the first letter, they had send a request for more information regarding the acct, like if i had it i would send it to them (right) .. when i originally requested them to validate and show "me" there was a agreement or acct with them.. on top of that they reopened the collection when i sent the first letter .. The first 2 letters were sent 6 & 8 2004 and i received the same responses back from them.. I just restarted this campaign due to some other reasons and am sending the 3rd letter to them this week, when i called experian to explain the disputed line and ask them if i need to fax or send the original letters as proof of my dispute i got that response.. my next step when i get back the answer back from the CA is to go to the bbb and/or the atty gen for my state (NY).. My question is, would this be advised going this route ..
