I had a tradeline that was on all three of my reports. I disputed it with Exp and TU. Exp deleted but TU did not. A few weeks after they verified, the tradeline was suddenly gone from TU. I never disputed it with EQ but I just got an updated report today and that same tradeline is now gone from there too! Is it possible the CRA's are sharing info some of the time? I can't see any other reason this would be deleted from all three reports.
§ 604. Permissible purposes of consumer reports [15 U.S.C. § 1681b] (6) Notification system by agencies that operate nationwide. Each consumer reporting agency that compiles and maintains files on consumers on a nationwide basis shall establish and maintain a notification system for purposes of paragraph (5) jointly with other such consumer reporting agencies.
Simple explanation. The CA who had the account couldn't verify it, so deleted it from there system. It no longer was being being reported when they did their updates. It just takes time for it to work it's way through the CRAs system. Seems like EQ takes the longest for changes to go through. Gib
This makes sense but it wasn't a CA, it was the OC. Maybe the same applies with the updates? It just seems odd that what seemed to trigger it was Exp deleting (and maybe proves TU doesn't do anything in terms of verifying - the old dart board theory as to whether your disputes get deleted or remain). This was an account that had been charged off in '97 so wasn't set to fall of yet but was old enough that there hadn't been updates for probably two or three years.
