WE had an item that we filed Bk on, the company listed it as a chargeoff, which I am fighting to get deleted or to IIBk, however, can they come and try to recoup these monies at a later date if they are listed as a chargeoff?

Also, have a creditor reporting their account as IIBK ( it had a 0 balance and was not used for 2 years) when it WAS NOT EVEN USED until 3 months after the discharge to start showing payment history. I made on time, more than minimum payments to them and got slapped with that on my credit report.

    Any help???

If it was IIBK that trumps erroneous reporting.

Both of these are perfect examples of inaccurate reporting. Assuming that you did NOT list the second one as a creditor when you filed. Did you?

I would start laying a paper trail, prepare to take them to court - when someone files bk, creditors (whether they lost money or not) do everything they can to make your report look as bad as possible for as long as possible.

First step would be to dispute with CRA's - that's probably not going to change anything, but it's the foundation for everything else.

Then, when they verify the inaccurate info, you have to write to the creditor, and let them know their reporting is not accurate, demand they correct the info on your reports.

Who are these creditors? Some of them are really getting a rep for doing this!

The incorrectly listed as chargeoff is with Universal Visa and the IIBK is Zales Jewelers. I had not used the Zales in more than 2 years and I actually took the purchase back as a return. It sat again for 2 years, when I learned I needed to start rebuilding, so I used 2 of the cards, JCP and Zales that both had 0 balances and started charges. JCP is less than $300, Zales was $168 and paid on time or more than monthly payment. I don't know if I should send Zales Corporate a copy of my BK papers, I understand that is a BIG NO NO.
