Can they do this?

I called CSC and asked that they reinvestigate an account that was previously investigated in August. I was told it would not be investigated without a letter from the company stating that it's not my account. I am so mad! I was so shocked! I asked the question, "Are you denying my rights as a consumer? She replied, "if that's the way you feel. I am not disputing the account." Can they get away with this?

No they cannot do this. The fact is you can request an investigation and they are required to investigate based on any innacuracy on the tradeline in question. You absolutely do not need a letter from the company saying anything. It is their job to contact the company (that's the purpose of the investigation) not yours. I would immediately send them a request for re-investigation along with an intent to sue. This should get the ball rolling for you.
