I notice there is alot of debate about what constribute a valid validation, sometime CA just take the Wollman letter as a joke...but can FTC be more specific about this in FDCPA?? I will send a letter with my name & address & get them to answer me if if any one here can help me draft the letter to FTC.

    Sorry..let me explain..
When we send in a request for validation to a CA, the CA always send us a computer print out... because the FDCPA sec 809 doesnt state what type of documents CA needs to send the consumer. Although many of us use Wollman (staff op letter), in love & other member case, the CA just take it as a joke. I just hope th FTC can be more specific, I know they dont asnwer any letter now, but it wouldnt hurt to give it a try..

    just a thought..
anything to help anyone in the future...

    Mrei,

What constitutes validation... The wollman letter is just that an FTC Staff Opinion Letter.... The key word is opinion... If you decide to go to court you can provide to the judge this letter just as i did but each judge has there own opinion on what constitutes validation and this letter from the FTC gives the judge something to go by when deciding a case ... This letter is there for you to use as evidence in building your case... Anybody with a computer can printout on a form that you owe 100.00 on acct 2342341.

If CA sends a computer printout to you send wollman and tell them you will accept nothing less than something with your signiture and or several months worth of statements with amounts dates, times etc...

    thank you..
I just dont understand why FTC wont specify that?
Of course, in common sense no one will pay a bill just base on a stupid print out, and I think any judge will agree on that..
so what was your result in court, if you dont mind anwering me..thanks.

You're supposed to pay anything they ask for without question.
If you don't then they blackball your credit.
The CRAs Creditors And CAs are con artist using credit and scoring to blackmail folks.
If I ran my business like they do theirs I would be in the Hoosegow and fined out the rear
and my business shut down by the Government.

    ib59..

It is so depressing when it comes to consumer's right,...when the gov makes law that suppose to protect the consumer yet they leave so many gray areas..
what CRA, CA are doing...it makes worldcom, Enron case look so small..
