Sure - just set/make up another username, and go through the same thing as you did when you made up your present username.

    Thanks

Just what do you consider anonymous? Your present screenname woofer is ananymous, no one knows your real name, unless woofer is your last name.

The above is true . . . how anonymous does one need to be?

Actually I was going to post something that perhaps could come back to haunt me ,so I wanted to post like I can do on another board.
Basically what I wanted to do is not have this post under my ID.
    Anyway thanks for the answers.

If there is something sensitive re: the post you want to make, remember you can "PM" people on the forum. I'm certain many of the experts here will gladly help, and ensure you retain your security.

    Thanks.
I am sure you know that the *other side* can be watching and if any of them are as research oriented as some of us here are, they can get mucho info which of course I don't want to happen

If you feel your question and subsequent answers to that question may be useful for others on the board, you can always sign up for another username as long as you use a different email address. Make sure you have access to that email address so you can verify it's validity before being able to post.

I've always heard of this "other side" however, I've never seen this scenario ever play out except for the now infamous LizardKing fiasco.

    Agreed Apex,

I think it would be very difficult to identify a poster, as long as defineable information was not provided.

With technological advances - and the government's ability to use technology in hunting down suspected terrorists - they could easily find out who posters are, where that computer is located.

You don't even need to be a secret agent, technogeek to find most people. Just look up the IP they used to post from. Any webmaster can do that and barely break a sweat. If you're concerned about your privacy, you should probably stay off the internet and definitely DO NOT do any google searches (unless you're doing them from the library, perhaps).

Actually I was stalked big time a long time ago.: (
I know that I can find out pretty easily who a poster is.
That said, I do feel there is *another side* that could be watching.
    Just my opinion.

That is why I use a throwaway addy and also can change my ISP . ; )
If you wanted to get into on me you will get a wide variety of info.
NONE will be specific and if it is specific it is not correct .
IE name changes ,amounts, area lived etc.
Do not assume that JDB and CA's and Skip Tracers do not check out forums like this one.

Geez . . . I suppose I should at least attempt to hide who I am. I would if I had a reason. Now, that's not implying that some folks don't have a reason to be cautious rather, only that I may simply be naive.

I still have a hard time getting my head around the fact that cyber-freaks exist. And this is having encountered the wrath of an entire message board that has hopefully met its fate.

If you're going to be public, then you can at least hope to get on this list: http://www.fdcpacases.org/page/page/4544578.htm. That should help move your name down to the bottom of the JDB and CA's lists.

It's too bad I filed in Small-Claims court, I don't know how available those records are for searching.

Well you have a service to provide. : ) One time I also put my real name out there right down to phone number and pics, as it was way back when and I was President of an organization and was well known for being outspoken.

People can get ticked off and or jealous at you ,because you disagree with them ,for how you look, how much money they think you have, the fact you are happy, the fact that you have whatever.

They also can get to stalk you if they think you are quite something.

Like I said a decade or so ago I was stalked by someone who *liked me*.
I also was stalked a few years ago by someone who did not like what I had to say.

You are fortunate you have never been.

I have and it is not something nice.

As for the *other side* I am not being chased by any ...yet...but this darn arbitration thing is my last debt problem but I do not want to make it easy for them, and come out and say I am owed 70K and the person has only paid me 10K, or that I just bought a big ticket item with cash and put it in a trust.

There really is no way of hiding from anyone, and the only way you can be incognito is never getting anyone ticked off or jealous of you and lay low.

Hard to do though ; )
