I never thought about it before, until today I added up all the credit lines on my four credit cards. I have $71,400 in credit limits spread over four credit cards!!! So when does the credit you have become too much??? Or can you have as much as you can get??? I don't know, so that's why I am asking. So who knows! Thanks!!!
It ain't the credit...it's the balances. If you can trust yourself not to go charge a small house, keep it all!
YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH!!!!!! If you can't pull one card out of your wallet at the Mercedes-Benz Dealer to PAY IN FULL for the car...YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH!!! UYGF
Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? I don't know...BUT AT ONE TIME WHEN I MADE LESS THAN $20,000/YEAR...I HAD OVER $200,000!!!
Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? Auto dealers won't let you charge over, say.. $1500 on a credit card.
Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? There are auto advertisements on TV around here stating the dealer will take major credit cards as payments for his used cars. Most of his cars are well over $1500.00, is this a law or general dealership policy? Tac
Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? I heard of one guy that paid for a $250K Ferrari on an american express card.
Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? rackt, AmEx wil authorize a huge purchase if you call them first and you have for example AmEx Plat in good standing. I actually managed to charge over $25,000 in plane tickets (first class, trans-atlantic, several people) like this. The phone call seems to be the key. And the AmEx lady told me that they want the cardholder to call only because such a purchase might just fit in the 'unusual activity' bracket of the system and be rejected. Yes, you can have too much credit and if you don't have balances on the cards that is a first rate denial titled "Too much available credit". PawMix
Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? Damn George, we need to discuss 200,000 on 20 k a year when ever you have the time. I thought 100k on 112k a year was good. proves I don't know squat.
Re: Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? There is NO LAW to prevent charging $100,000+ car...IT ALL DEPENDS ON "IF" THEY WANT THE BUSINESS... I thought dealers were HURTING "BIG TIME" for sales???
Re: Re: Re: Can you have too much credit??? Wow....I want to learn about that too lol, what side business pays the bills???
