Can you request validation from both the original creditor and the collection agency at the same time?
Sure you can. Are both the original creditor and the CA reporting the item to the CRA's? I would only send a validation to those reporting the account, but if both are reporting it, you can request each one to validate. There are differences in the laws pertaining to the CA and the original creditor so the letters you write should probably differ slightly, but you can request validation from each, and at the same time if you wish. -Peace, Dave
