I am a Canadian, but live in the states (permanent Resident)

The law in Canada says that you do not have to supply a Social Insurance number when you apply for credit. Thats about all I know. My credit in Can is almost perfect... too bad it is going to hell since its all dropping off after being in the states for about 7 years

wish there was decent paying jobs up there... need to own a company to make anything

A Bankruptcy in Canada will last for 6 years with the CRA's. A 2nd Bankruptcy will report for 14 years.

    I'm seeing some interesting stuff.
the credit reporting agencie's act are regulated on a provincial basis. I believe that the fair credit reporting act is Federal.

In Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island, the credit bureaus are allowed to keep bankruptcies on for 14 years.
