Does anyone have recommendations for where I can get a credit card. I lost my business 6 months ago (virtually bankrupt) but am rebuilding. Finding it difficult to survive without having a credit card. Unfortunately, our Canadian banking laws are different from the US and we do not have Secured credit cards etc. I am looking for someting in the US or offshore (may be hesitant due to scams?)

Home Trust Bank which is based in Canada will be offering a new secured card for canadians with bad or no credit, here's the article:

It does require a minimum deposit of $300 though but They may be able to help you.

    Regards,
    Alex.

You can if you want a U.S. Card get a Tav I.D. No. from the IRS and apply for the following U.S. Cards (Secured) You will need a U.S. Address

Citibank, Bank of America, Banco Popular, However I have found Chase and United National to be the best.
