Cancelling a Credit Card

    If you have good credit with Capital One and all payments have been made on time,and the card has no balence on it, would canceling that card just to eliminate it affect your credit report in a negative way

    under the FICO model, two open tradelines (eg two credit cards) maximizes your score. one is pretty good, and more than two revolving accounts (this doesn't include an auto loan or mortgage) lowers your score.
