Hi all.....still a newbie here...anyway i do have a problem that i know i should wait until i fix all my old tl first...but this really bothers me. I opened an acct with cap 1 in 1999. Anyway i went through hard times and couldn't pay. I did however make VERY small payments once i was one or two months behind....two times. ANYWAY the jist of it is that i couldn't get back on my feet and i was sent a letter by a lawyers office and got a phone call from one of them(about a year later or less). Basically saying that i could be taken to court and blah blah blah. I set up payment arrangements with them but miss one month of payment in May. One morning i was served with papers from the marshall. I basically called them back up and was told i had to put a certain amount down for two months and pay ex amount of dollars each month to keep from going to court. Now mind you....they are actually a law firm and hey...i didn't want to go to court..i was scared. NOw here is the situation the monthly payments that they set up are killing me in my pockets. THey will not take anything less. I don't know what to do. On my CR it doesn't even list them as a CA...still shows Cap 1 with a charge off. Also cap 1 is on my CR with two accounts...i only had one card with them. It is showing DOLA as 9/2001 on one and 6/2001 on the other. SO should i just go ahead and send some type of letter to cap 1 seeing if they will work with me (don't laugh)? OR could i have possibly done myself in with the payment arrangements (i didn't want to go to court)? Thanks.
