I currently have a two-year old charge-off reported on my credit report by Capital One. My wife currently has a Cap 1 card in which we are planning to add me as an AU. Does the fact that I have a derogatory account as reported by Cap 1 have any possible negative effects to our credit if I become an AU on her account? T-Man
I don't think you have anything to worry about. Creditors don't get any info on the AU other than the name I believe. I had Mervyn's included in our BK and I am an AU on my husband's Mervyns and Target account. They've never said anything yet. Kim
You can be DENIED an AU card...BUT they CAN'T collect any DEBT you didn't have a "CONTRACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY" for...
