Just had a friend email me and wrote that Cap 1 offered him a Plat. pre-approval card with a 0% APR until April 2004, a go to rate of 12.9%(v) and the best part a cl up to $3103!!!

Only Cap 1 can offer a Plat card with a cl up to $3103.00

How do they compute this stuff, jeeze what's the 3 bucks for?

Oh well at least he gets offers from Cap 1.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

Most important words in that statement is UP TO..which means he could be approved for a tiny CL of 300 or so....not worth it!!!

Pre-approval means nothing. It's a scam to check your credit and cost you a inquiry.

WHAT IS THE $103 FOR---FOR THAT MATTER???

    $3,000 WOULD BE MORE LOGICAL!!!!

I got an email like that as well although my amount was for 5134.

I deleted it but I thought the amount was bizarre

I would DEMANDED they REDUCE IT TO $5,000 or increase it to $5,500

AND I THOUGHT MY MBNA WAS STRANGE $XX,600

    My offer:

Need an extra line of credit with no interest on purchases until April 2004? You've been pre-approved for a Capital One® Visa® Platinum card that comes with a credit line up to $7,512*. You'll get a 0% intro APR on purchases that goes to a competitive variable APR, currently 14.9%.

    Screw 'em
