I receive those lovely preapprovals about once a wekk from crap one, I have send them numerous things back in the mail and it has been a solid 2 weeks since I receive anything from them I "thought" they finally got my point .........

Well today I get a phone call. first off this girl couldn't even pronounce my name correctly, it's not really hard, and proceeds with her line about 0% blah blah blah. Well let's just say I didn't answer the phone at a good time LOL. I said hey wait a minute are YOU the bank the advertises no telemarketing LOL. I proceeded to tell her to stick her invitation where the sun don't shine and don't ever call me again and I took my lovely horn ( you know the ones you use at sporting events) and let her have it. Now I feel better:)

    So do I :)) LOL

I got one from a guy at CapOne...Grandmother going in hospital, relatives over for Thanksgiving...Nephew playing trains...I asked him:

"Are you calling me Friday at 9:00PM EST for something I am late on or to correct something in my account?"..."Am I late on a payment or something?"

    he said "No sir"

I said "Are you calling to offer me something at 9:00PM EST on Friday of my Thanksgiving holiday that I am spending with my family? Something that I don't need and probably wont take?"

    he said sheepishly "yes sir"

I said "You all have some nerve...I may just cancel my cap one account entirely because of this. DO NOT CALL ME with any such calls unless it is convenient for ME to take the call, OK?" and I hung up on him.

LOL What nerve...and its my account (cap1) that is pissing me off...not MCI calling me to get me to switch from Sprint or something.

    -Peace, Dave

The worst thing is that companies like Cap One usually contract out chores like that to telemarketing firms who could care less if you cancel your Cap One card. Basically they only care about that next corporate invoice. :(

I used to be a holder of 4 Capital One cards, but they solicit the hell out of you. I finally ended up cancelling all of the cards. To be honest, the number of phone solicitations I receive is next to none since I cancelled Capital One.

I don't have that problem with Cap 1. They have my old disconnected number or I use my relative's phone # so I don't have to put up with the calls.

Do you have any advice on how to lower your interest rate? I heard PlanetFeedback was a pretty good way.

What's the lowest they will go? Any ideas?

I broke down and added Privacy Manager service to my phone. I think it's $3-4 per month and tele marketers usually hang up . My phone hardly rings now. I highly recommend it!
