Cap 1 Pre-selected?

    I got a Cap 1 pre-selected no-hassle invitation for a Visa Business Plat card. Is it the same as pre-approved? Charlie

    Pre-Selected = we got your name from the phone book but have no idea if you're even still alive

    Pre-Approved = We ran your report and we'll lend you some money. Corollary for Cap One: Some money doesn't mean a lot of money.

    PRE-SELECTED to "apply"

    PRE-APPROVED to "apply"

    NO DIFFERENCE!!!

    If it say something like we already "PULLED" your credit report and you are GUARANTEED the account with no additional credit report being pulled and they tell you that your credit limit is say $5,000...THEN IT IS "REALLY" PRE-APPROVED!!!

    ...also they would only ask for SS#, D.O.B., and EMPLOYER, maybe one or two other questions...

    They usually say you "CAN" be approved up to $100,000.00...BUT IT'S NOT GUARANTEED...you might even get $1,000.00...you could even get DENIED!!!

    I get DENIED all the time (for PRE-APPROVED).
