Yesterday, I used PFB to write to Cap One to request a CLI. I thought Eugene Cooke would reply with a message or contact number as I've spoken to him before.

Today I received an email with a phone number for Cap One, asking me to call because account information can't be discussed by email.

Well, I called and was connected to an operator in India. When I said I would like to speak with Mr. Eugene Cooke, the rep thought I was asking about account information on Mr. Cooke's credit card. So, she asked me for Mr. Cooke's credit card number!

I said, no, no, Mr. Cooke is an employee of Capital One who works in the Executive Department.

At that point, I just said, thanks, but I think I'll just call back later...

So, it would appear that emails sent through PlanetFeedback.com to Cap One are no longer being routed to the Executive Offices, and are now being answered (or a reasonable facsimile of) by reps in India.

DEAR CAPITAL ONE...I'M NOT AFRAID OF E-MAIL...WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF E-MAIL???
IF I WAS AFRAID OF E-MAIL WOULDN'T I BE ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW INSTEAD OF PFB???

GET A CLUE AND DON'T ASK ME TO CALL!!!

But if sensitive account information happened to be gained by a 3rd party from discussing account info thru email masses of customers would be saying

"Whoa! Those idiots, what are they doing - discussing account concerns thru email! blah blah blah"

Personally I'd rather not discuss my personal information via email. :)

    some FYI...

BofA is also building facilities and moving departments to India.

Post Closing Audits, Employee Customer Service, IT functions, Accounts payable, and personnel are just some of the depts. transferring overseas.

I have relatives that have lost jobs from BofA over this.

Like I said, just some FYI so you know who you are dealing with.

Personally and especially since my career line is being exported (IT), I plan on canceling ALL accounts with companies that transfer functions to India.

I really ticked off one guy at Arcadia Financial yesterday. I called their 1 800 # and an indian answered. I asked to speak to someone who could speak english without an accent! He never would transfer me. I got ticked after a while. Finally, I asked for his name. He said, "Andy". I said, "I want your *real* name!" He replied, "my name is Andy.." I said, "No it isn't. I have NEVER heard of ANY native Indian naming their child in INDIA -ANDY which is an AMERICAN name!" He was dumbstruck. Oh well, I hung up anyway.

I suspect if we ALL refuse to do business with India and Indian CSRs, they will have to bring our jobs back home!
