Just got a Cap i offer for the Platinum card with a cl up to 2,000. Currently have a secured card with them for a cl of 600. Our record with them has been excellent with no lates for the past 4 years. Current scores are 650 with EXP, 647EQF and 687 TU. Wonder if another card would help the score, in time. I hate the idea of another hard inquiry but it might be worth it. thanks for all the great ideas on this site about cleaning up wrong data. jimbob
I received that offer along with an online offer. One of the offers was for a TJ Maxx Visa card I believe. After in January and recieving a $200 Platinum card (?!?!?) I will never apply for another C1 product. It isn't worth the time or three inquiries they pull!
Yeah, Cap 1 loves hitting all three. They did it to me when I responded to an installment loan offer. I think they only did two though when I got my Cap 1 No Hassle Platinum card.
Cap One will give you their top of the line card and then insult you with a 200 CL, just because it says up to $2000.00 doesn't mean you'll get it. I called Cap One to close their Plat card they wanted to send me with the measly 200 CL, they wanted to insult me further with giving me another $200 CL increase for me to stay. What an insult!! I said just who qualifies for these $2000.00 CL's anyway?? Even a $2000.00 CL is measly for a CC as far as I'm concerned, I said who ever heard of a person having a gold or Plat. card with a 200 CL??? LOL!! Just because you have excellent payment history does nothing to them that you are a good customer. As long as they can sock you those fees for anything, they are glad to have you and won't give you a CL increase but will be glad to offer you other crappy cards from them for you to open. I got more cash settling my lawsuit with them then they ever offered me in a credit card. Oh another thing, don't ever let a card of theirs be charged off, you will start with owing them a $200.00 balance and when it is all said and done you will owe them over $1300.00 like was the case with me. Tell Cap One to pound sand and close your accounts like I did, that was the best thing I've ever done! Tac
I agree with you. I actually had a card with a 300 cl and 2200 but they wouldn't budge on either credit lines (perfect payment history with them), so I closed them all and told them to remove me from all of their lists.
I received an offer a week or so ago asking me if I wanted to upgrade my Kmart MC to a platinum card- FOR $29! It said nothing of a CL increase or APR change, which I figured it didn't include with the new card. So I called, and they said all it would be is a new card. I asked him, "Now why would I give you $29 just to have a different color card if you're not offering me any additional benefits?" All he could do was repeat the same line he'd given me twice, "The offer is for a new platinum card to replace your current card, and does not include any increases or APR offers at this time".
Re: Re: Cap I offer I receive every month an invitation for their Platinum Business card. Does Anyone know about this product?
Only a little- husband was late a few times and now he's up to 29.9% interest and they only gave him 500 CL when he opened it.
Re: Re: Re: Cap I offer I had one, and it is a hidden line of credit. It does not report on your regular credit reports.
Re: Re: Cap I offer lbrown 59 Good one, I never heard them called that before, but it pretty much covers it. I have 2 cap 1 accounts and they never report to equifax. they only show up on the other two pb
