Has anyone ever applied online and got an instant approval? I have never heard of instant approval online with a secured card but that what this says:

Does anyone know the criteria for Cap 1 secured?

Where does it say instant approval for secured card? I see "60 seconds online response" for the classic or gold card.

Just about anyone can get a secured card through them, unless you've burned them in the past. You could always just apply for a regular Visa and if your scores are not high enough, they'll offer you secured.

Under Capital One Secured Visa Card it says "Application Completion Time: 2 min Response Time : 1 min"

Anyway, Cap 1 keeps sending me so called pre-approval offers for regular cards. In the past I have applied twice and was denied. They never offered a secured card.

One Cap 1 card that I had good luck with is the CAP1, TJX Visa card. It actually has a little reward program for certificates to the TJX scores. 1% on purchases 5% on purchases in their stores. They give 4.9% APR for 6 months. I got this card with my bad scores, at first they only gave me a $200 limit, but 2 months later, they increased it to $1,000. Didn't even realize it until, I called in one day and it said my available credit was over 900 dollars. Seems like a pretty good card for any of the fellow rebuilders out there. No annual fee either.

I can't find anything on it anymore, I received the offer in the mail in October, at that time I looked it up on Cap1's site and it was there. I know the stores have applications. TJMAXX does at least. Here is the phone number on the back of the card. 877-534-6841. Hope that Helps. You may want to run some Search Engine Queries on TJX Visa, but I couldnt find anything, except for credit card reviews.

Thanks but in called (877) 534-6841 and the rep told me not apply now. She said I was denied within the last 45 days. She says Cap 1 auto deny when you apply within 45 days of denial. So I will wait.

Bummer, you should try back in 45 though, I think its a good card, this card has some prime-like qualities :) othen then the limits of course. I have been really happy with Cap1. If only those Providian people would have woken up! haha

Would that apply (the 45-day rule) if you were approved but did not accept the offer for another card within the past 45 days?

I don't know but call and ask. The rep was very friendly and informative.
