    Hello everyone,

I'm not sure what to do with this situation. hopefully someone on this board can give me some insight.
Cap one is making me nuts. I have three T/L's with them on my CR. One of the T/L's is listed completely wrong. I had settled on all three of these accts about year ago. The one tradeline is showing that I still owe on this acct. But TU has it listing on one acct# and Equifax has it listed a completely different acct#. When I settled this acct it was through NCO, but the check was made out to Cap one. The paperwork from NCO is showing another different acct #. NCO is not showing on my CR. the acct started at 1100.00 and is now showing 1500.00. I just received a letter from a CA trying to collect on this acct. There acct# is the same one that is showing on TU. I have a letter ready to go out for validation for the CA. but I'm not sure what to do about Cap one. I do have a dispute letter ready to go to all three CRA's asking them to check Cap one because the info is being reported incorrectly. How am I going to prove that I settled this acct when the acct numbers are not matching ?
Please help. any and all suggestions appreciated.

C1 also acts as a collection agency/debt buyer.

Depending on the reporting agency, accounts for their WestMoreland Agency subsidiary, could be reported as being C1.

So did you receive any of the C1 'GREAT NEWS' we want to rake you over the coals for a debt which is beyond the SOL! letters? or anything else referring to WestMoreland Agency?

NO, no letters from Cap one. the CA is Allied Interstate that sent the most recent letter.

    Is the account post-SOL?

If it could be post-SOL (or near SOL), I would demand that AI validate the account immediately, demand everything including the kitchen sink, the application, all statements, an accounting of any and all fees, rates and why those fees are legal under federal law.

How did you pay NCO, and do you have a copy of the payment method that you could use as proof if AI does try to sue?

    Jam,

According to the DOlA on Equifax this is past SOL, but the paperwork that I have from NCO settling on this debt is showing a different acct# then what is showing on Eq and TU. Now the letter I got from AI just recently, shows the same acct# that TU is showing. I know this was the same acct that I paid on , weather those acct#'s are different or not. It's the same acct. but trying to prove it due to the fact that the acct#'s are different is going to tough. Yes, I do have my validation letter ready go out the door. No hestitation there.
