Anyone have any luck getting Discover or Cap One charge-off deleted? I have 2 from 95 (both paid) and they won't come off. I have disputed myself and so have Lex and Junum over the past 2 years for a total of 8 times each and Nada.
Right. Just impatient. Been trying for 3 years so it is sort of a thorn in my side. Also, I want to buy a house and would really like a clean report to get those scores as high as possible. Also, TU can't seem to use the right date, although they have it. They use the date last updated according to all the merged reports I have ever seen. I would rather they would just go away altogether.
Just a thought, but I have a friend who had the same thing happen to them. They also wanted to buy a home. What they did was call a Corporate Manager and explain the situation. They asked that they fully remove this from there files and they did. But you might want to ask a Mortgage Specialist before doing so, because the old account being there may not even affect your loan. As it is so old. Good Luck
