I PFB'd Cap One to request lowering of APR from 9.9 Fixed to 4.9 Fixed. Even though the letter was by default addressed to CEO, I presume that Mr. Cooke handles these requests? If so, has anyone had success in getting this APR?

Not a chance. The 4.9% card is by invitation only and I believe Cooke is given a floor rate of 8.9% that even he cannot override.

The purpose of the 4.9% card is for people who carry heavy balances from time to time (NOT every month) and those with frequent BT activity.

Hey niceGuy - same thoughts - except I talked to Mr Cooke about 3 weeks ago when he raised me to $7100.

He told me that when all reports were clean - it would be necessary to APPLY for the MilesOne - and they do pull all three bureaus.

NiceGuy - I think you should get a CHASE or US BANK card - both pull TU only.

Chase and BoA are out for me -- if they have a blacklist. I don't know if anyone here has found out for certain on either one...

I'd still go for BofA over USBank. Either way you go, best of luck.
