I read a lot about combining cards to get to the next level, like combining cards to get a single card with a higher CL. I want to know what total in CL's do you have to have with Cap One to get their platinum card?

I was told just this week by a CSR that you have to have $5000 credit line before you can get a plat. card.

I'd try Mr. Cooke to see if he can do anything.

Love, I recieved an offer this past week for the Cap 1

Platinum. Its not the same as the 9.9 No- Hassels card.

My offer said guarented offer of at least $500.00 limit up to $7500.00. (no way I'm in the 500 club).
39.00 annual fee. I see no reason you couldn't get the same offer if you were interested.

BTW, got the $500.00 limit increase this A.M. from Mr. Cooke. Nice guy. Emailed me and said he didn't want to wake me by phone as time is 4 hours differrent. What a guy!

    Thanks for the idea.

    Hermit5,
Did he tell you not to ask for another increase for at least six months?

Yup. My account was opened in 8/01. Would have been up for my first increase in 2/02. The increase I just got was due to bad customer service, not an early review. Wonder why he felt the need to tell me that?

Their policy is every 6 months if you have no late payments, so maybe he was just following the party line so as to not raise expectations.

I have had mine for 18 months with only 1 $300.00 increase till now.

Just be on time even early if you can. I also try their products for the trial period. The reps have said I am a good client. I try to make myself as attractive a client as possible to them.
