My husband has a Cap one card and a K-mart cap one card.(we wanted to put the K-mart on the cap one) He called today to combine the accounts and was told:

he could add his k-mart balance to it but his credit limit would not be carried over because k-mart owns the card not cap one. so that meant he would max out cap one.

    or

he could put his cap one balance and credit limit on the k-mart card.

    Does this sound right?
Has anyone had success at combining their k-mart with their cap one??

That is weird. I would ask to speak with a supervisor or something, because I know Capital One issues the card, but maybe they have the rights to it. I don't know, sounds different. Even if they won't combine, and you want a higher credit limit, use planetfeedback. I did, and it worked!!! I called them up after they wrote me and email to contact them, and I was connected with a lady who asked me what I wanted for an APR and what I wanted for a credit limit. I said a grand for credit limit, DONE. I said 12.9%, down from 14.77%, DONE. If you express your dissatisfaction, they will work with you!
