I have a cap one card only $200 CL. I got it five years ago when I first started rebuilding. I have two 30-day lates on it.

Debating sending the goodwill or just calling them to close it. I've heard that "Retention" makes deals to keep accts open. Would they remove these lates or should I just try the goodwill. My thought is to go goodwill first, if unsuccessful, try retention. This is one of my oldest TL's so I'd like it to stay.

    Your thoughts?

do a goodwill letter asking them to remove the lates.

    how old are the lates?

i would hate to threaten to close if they don't and they say "too bad for you! account is now closed!"

Jenz123, thanks for the reply. Lates are year and a half old.

I'll go w/ goodwill and take my chances.

    Thanks,
