I'd only reapply if you're willing to accept 3 hard inquires for the app. And be prepared to get another subprime card unless all your ducks are in a row.

...and more than likely your second card will come with a $300 Cl.

Just a warning before you waste three hards.

I have a "platinum" card w/Cap1. Original CL was $500 and they would not raise it for a year. Nothing "platinum" about the card, don't lose any sleep over it.

    Get another credit card

Capital One is very slow to grant credit increases. If your credit is good then you should try for a prime card, otherwise you should consider another secured credit card. In both cases, you should probably keep the current Capital One card. The best way to get a prime Cap 1 card appears to be have super clean credit and close your sub-prime Cap 1 and wait for the Cap1 pre-approval offers.

    Get another credit card

I have a regular Cap1 with a $2250 CL and was preapproved for their "PLATINUM" card so I applied. Three hards later I got the Platinum with a $300 CL.

I PFB them and actually got a call from Amanda Mays who informed me that in order for them to re-review my application for a higher CL they will have to pull more Hard Inquries.

    No thanks.

My regular Cap1 card was one year old in November and no 'automatic' increase came with that anniversary. I'm not wasting any hards to inquire for an increase only to receive $100 CL like most, if not all, of the people here.

One Cap1 card is good. Wait or try someone else.

Welcome to the Club!. Don´t expect less from Crapital One.

Call again and try to get a supervisor or call Mr. Cooke (Do a Search on this site). You can convert this card to Gold without any inquires, the only requirement is limit over 2K.

But you will still be a subprime client. Don´t expect that they upgrade again this Gold card to a Platinum in the future.

My advise to you is to forget this card or even close the account and to apply for Prime banks like Citibank, BofA, Chase, Fleet, etc.

I agree with you, except stay away from Fleet - they're a bunch of jerks, IMO.
