    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has tried adding a person who has a relatively recent chargeoff with Cap1 as an AU on another account?

I have a perfect history with Cap1 - no lates, no overlimits, etc.... I'm very careful with them since I know how touchy they are.

In any case, I'm concerned that if I go ahead and add this person, Cap1 may flag my account in some derogatory way due to the past charge-off that she recently settled (for 50%).

    Thanks!

They "COULD" flag your account INTERNALLY...but they can NOT put anything on your credit report for a CHARGEOFF that is not yours!!!

That's what I was concerned about - the internal stuff, e.g. raising my interest rate, giving me a hard(er) time with increases, or even cutting my limit, etc...

"THEY" should NOT really be able to do ANY of that...(BASED ON AN "AU") BUT who knows...

Just use their other name and don't provide a SS#.

For instance if the charge off account was under John Doe and the guys name is John Alfred Doe. Set up an AU for Alfred Doe. And I've added AU's to five differnret CC companies and they never asked for SS#. Well one did but I said I didn't have it and they said don't worry about it then and set it up anyway. Thats what I would do.

Will it show up on the report if I use a variation of the name like that?

Basically, doing this, we're hoping that Cap1 doesn't make the association, but the CRA does - right?

    Thanks!
