I applied for one of the secured credit cards online before they took off the secured credit cards off of their website. I got a message saying they needed more information (it does not look like they have pulled any inquiries on my acct) they said they would mail me an application. I have not received any thing and I was going to call and apply because I am just concerned that maybe they are not going to send me an application at all... so since they removed the cards are they not going to market to any subprime consumers anylonger? Or does it just mean they are going to make it harder to apply? My negative credit is from the past 3 years-- my current credit is actually all pays as agreed. So I am just a little nervous that I may not be able to get a card after all. ThanksQ
If they ask for more information, that usually means they won't waste their time if they aren't going to do anything. But, you threw me off when you said the were going to mail you an application. Have you called them to ask them what is going on? I am guessing so, because they are really tightening up on their credit limit increases, and it seems as if they are pushing the platinum cards. Whatever happens, good luck...........
Thanks for the response. To be honest, now I can not remember if the CSR told me they were mailing me an application or if the auto response on the website told me that. I think I will call tonight when I get off of work and try to figure it out. This is the first credit card I have applied for in three years. *lol* So I am a little nervous.
I hope so. The first Cap1 person I spoke to was really nice and I do not think that he was bs**** me. He said that sometimes they request more information because even if you had bad credit and that was a few years ago and everything current has been positive they have been able to give you a regular credit card. He went on to say how he had worked hard to improve his own credit that he tarnished during college. So... I actually felt he was being sincere. I will call them as soon as I get off from work which is in the next fifteen minutes assuming now drama happens. (the life of a tech support)
I recently applied for the secured card online also .. and recieved the same message. It took about three weeks, but I recieved a letter in the mail saying I was approved. I had to send in the $99 deposit and then they sent me the card. My credit is pretty tarnished .. so I think you have a good chance. Good luck!
I applied online and got a letter in the mail within a week. Sent in my $99. Waiting for card now. Myst btw, scores are low (very low) 500's.
did online app.. about 2 weeks letter got an approval and request to sent 99... card arrived 3 weeks afterwards...
