I just found out that Cap1 reports to the bureaus betwee the last 5 days of a month and the 1st 5 days of the next month. They only report your high balance, so to get them to report your credit limit, just max out your card during that period and repay it immediately afterwards. The highest balance (the maxed amount) will stay on your CRA file ad the actual balance will also be reported. You will take a 1-month FICO it since when yu do this it will show you maxed out, but should correct the next month.
What do you mean by, "You will take a 1-month FICO it since when yu do this it will show you maxed out, but should correct the next month."
I think they meant "one month FICO hit", as your score will take a hit while your card is maxed out. It *should* correct itself when the CRA's report the "paid off" balance the following month. Now what's the odds that one of the CRAs *will* screw up and somehow show your current balance > high balance?
Sorry, I meant to say that your FICO will take a 1-month HIT since you will show as being maxed out when they repofrt the maximum utilization, but those points should come back the next month when you pay off the maxing out and you lower your utilization percentage.
It's no longer neccessary to go through all this guys. Just call Cap1 and tell them you want the limit reported, and all the have to do is fill out a little form and forward to the reporting department. If anyone can find out what that little form is called it would be helpfull.
Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Since when did strict company policy (of NOT reporting credit limits, no matter how much you bribed them) change? Can anyone else confirm this?
But will the limit STICK, or will it revert back to high balance the following month? There's the $64,000 (or whatever your real limit) question!
Well what I did, was just max it out 6 days before they report, and leave it like that for 2 days, then pay it back done, via internet, ... no fee. CATNAP1972, I heard you had it removed from your CR, how did you do that, I think in my case it's bringing down my average-TL years.
Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line Simple---dispute the credit limit as being incorrect. Unless Crap 1's policy changed lately (re: butch's comments), they won't verify and the CRA will end up deleting the TL. I'm very interested in hearing what Crap 1 is replying to those requests to report limits if anyone else called in.
Re: Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line My CapOne is in dispute now, going to get an answer in 3 days, ???????
Re: Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line Gee Wiz. I can't believe you guy's aren't aware of this. We've talked about it right here on CN. Several times by several people. If you dispute it tho, they may very well delete it, if leaving it there makes a positive impact. If you try and dispute, and the dispute results in a positive they'll just suppress it. That's what they did to me, and what I'm gettin ready to sue them for. It's the only thing keeping me from the 800 club! GGRRR I'll see if I can find a thread or 2.
Re: Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line DAMN PHRASE SEARCH WON'T WORK ANYMORE !!! I've tried a few keyword searches: FILL, OUT, FORM, LIMIT, CAP1, REPORT Can't find anythng. I'll keep lookin, but help me if ya can. ??? (Maybe I'm just gettin old or sumthin) lol
Re: Re: Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line Search must be broken right now. I thought I remembered reading SOMETHING where a couple of people managed to convince Crap1 to send verification of the correct limit to the CRA, but when it reported the following month it went right back to the high balance again.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line MR COOKE SAID THEY (CAPITAL ONE) "THINKS" THAT HIGH BALANCE AND CREDIT LIMIT ARE THE EXACT SAME THING AND THEY WON'T LIST THE CREDIT LIMIT ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT!!! They have a weird idea that if they report HIGH BALANCE $500...no other credit card company will try to take you from them...BUT if they say you have a CREDIT LIMIT OF $10,000...you will have 5 different card companies trying to go after you!!! SURE THEY WILL!!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Cap1 WILL report your Credit Line Hey, if you close the your CAP-ONE, will they report it properly????
