On 2/18/03, I mailed a letter to Capital One requesting that they increase my MasterCard credit line from $500 to $2,000. I justified my request based on past my payment history and current level of income. Today, 3/17/03, I received a response from Capital One, dated 2/26/03, declining my request based upon the following: "Previous delinquency status of Capital One Account; Your Account is too new. Upon maintaining your account satisfactorily for six months, please contact us for review of your account." The facts are: I filed BK7 in 5/2001. Discharged in 10/2001. I have two Capital One MC's. A Titanium MC opened 9/2001 with $400 credit line and a Platinum MC opened 3/2002 with $ 500 credit line. I have never been late on payments to either card. However, I did exceed my credit limit on the Titanium MC one time. What should I do now? Should I wait six months before requesting a credit limit increase? Should I call Capital One tomorrow and request a credit limit increase? If so, whom should I call and what should I say? I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions.
OVER-LIMIT = LIMIT INCREASE LATE = LIMIT INCREASE COMBINING 2 INTO 1 ACCOUNT = LIMIT INCREASE 1 LIMIT INCREASE PER 6-9 MONTHS...
Heh. Yeah, thats a good one GEORGE Cap. 1 combining two cards and calling that a CLI. "...And the hits just keep on comin'"
