I'm 2 yrs. into BK and am thinking of applying for a Cap. 1 card (we have no other cards). Would this be a good move, or should we wait? How long does it take to start rebuilding credit?
You can start rebuilding credit now,but I would suggest you start by app. for a secured card from Cap-One..
Try FCNB. If you go secured they will give you a limit three times your deposit. They offered me an unsecured card while my BK was in process (they got my name through court records and know I have a BK). The interest rate is a little lower on the secured card. Other posters have posted that they will offer you a Spiegel card after you have established a good history with them (as early as 6 months after opening I think).
