Capital One and a MEASLY limit

I've had two cap1 accounts for about 3 years. Never late, never over. Ever. I've always been close to my limit however because these accounts are those special charge off, second-chance type accounts.

The chargeoffs were from college when I had no business whatsoever having credit cards. Three years ago, I received the offer from capital one to open the accounts and give me a chance to pay off the charge offs and start establishing credit again. If I knew what I know now, I never would have done it, but hindsight is 20/20. The initial balance on one account was around 650, so they gave me half that for a credit limit, 300. The charge off amount has been paid off completely. The other account was a 1400 balance to which they gave me a credit limit of 600. I have about 100 left to pay on the initial charge off amount. I've requested credit limit increases on these cards but I've been told that these are special accounts and don't qualify for a credit limit increase. Apply for a regular account, and we will take into consideration the history you have developed with us. So I waited for a preapproved offer. The offer said the lowest limit would be 300 up to 2000. I accepted the offer, and a few days later, someone from Cap1 called wanting to know income, balance of savings and checking, and retirement accounts. 15 days later I receive a card and a no where on any of the information is a credit limit. When I called customer service (not the activation #) I got an automated service that told me the credit limit was a measly 200 and automatically activated the card. Now I'm ticked.
Any ideas on what number I should call, and what I should say to get this crappy limit increased???

    Thanks, and sorry so long,
    Charity

    planetfeedback.

Don't expect to get much if you have a poor credit file. They probably pulled them all lol.

crap 1 is a stepping stone card. It's best to only use them if you have derogs on file, otherwise even the best of us hardly get any limit from them.

they actually remember that you are a bad risk, and will remember it for life lol ;)
