Can anyone tell me what kind of shape their credit was in when they applied with Capital One. also I hear they pull all three is this true?
I received a "you are pre-approved" offer in the mail about 2 months after my BK7 was discharged. My earlier Capital One account was one of the charge-offs in my bankruptcy, too. Kat
Cap1 caters to every credit situation there is......But careful though, cause what you get when you sign up as what you'll be stuck with till you leave.............
I received YOU'RE APPROVED letter from capitalone while I was on their collection. I remember I owed them $1175.00 and they still mailed me the letter. Complete BS. I called the CSR and they told me that they send those to complete neighborhoods. I looked around the building where I live (15 units) and every single mailbox had one. Same thing with Discover. You'd be waisting 2 points from your score by having a hard inquiry added to your credit file. I recomend we start a list of CC that mail those just for the heck of it and we shouldn't trust them nor responde to their offers. - CapitalOne - Discover Please add yours.
Re: Re: Capital One and their approvals! I should have added above that they sent me a card. Oddly enough the discharged account shows up in the same month as the new card. Kat
Re: Re: Capital One and their approvals! I should have added in my message above that Cap One actually did send me a card. Oddly enough the discharged account shows up in the same month as the new card. Kat
Re: Re: Capital One and their approvals! You looked in everyone's mailbox? I sure hope you don't live near me!
I received Cap One offer 2 yrs after my ch-7 BK discharge back in 2000... they pulled Ex & Eq. One year and a half later, I received offer for 7.5K Plat card... applied and got it. Please note that each card came with an annual fee, but I have called retention every year to have them waive it. Good luck! MrX
Re: Capital One and their approvals yo kb!!!!!! nice to see you. re cap one: my situation may be a bit strange - so take it for what it's worth: About six or seven years ago - when I hardly had any credit history at all - i applied for cap one and got turned down - due to "insufficient credit history." A few years went by - and i had a few cards listed on my report - and - CAP ONE started BOMBARDING me with offers - like every other week - but i never applied for anything cuz they all had annual fees - or credit lines "up to $1000 - and i had better cards - without any annual fees... About a half a year ago - a cap one telemarketer called me at my place of business - offering a Cap One Miles Biz Visa - with a good intro rate and credit line "up to" 20K. i dunno why - but I decided - what the heck - i was looking to transfer a balance anyway - and let the telemarketer take an application - expecting to get 7.5k max. Well - weirdly - I was approved for the full 20K - and - up to now - they've been good to work with. My scores at the time were low 700's - no negs or derogs. Also - i had a high limit bank of america visa reporting (31K at the time) - someone told me they like to see at least one high limit card. And - yup - they checked all three cras! Hope that helps. p.s. how's the baby?
