had a charged off account with capital one bank for 5k and disputed it the first time and came off. Had moved a few times within the last year and changed my address to a new one and deleted the old ones. Can someone tell me did i just get lucky or what. Please respond.
With Capital One, you probably just got lucky. I too have had the same luck. I had 2 on my reports, 1 was just and AU (they had listed as joint) and the other was mine but both were paid. I disputed them once and the one that they listed as joint was removed within 2 weeks, the other was verified. I disputed the verified account again just to see if I could get lucky with this one also and it has since been removed from EXP, and I am waiting on the other 2 to see what happens. DH also has 2 and they keep verifying. It seems like a lot of people have had really bad luck with Capital One. I have been very happy with them. They gave me a card 2 years ago to cover the charged off card and I have had perfect history so it has really helped me to build positive credit. Be sure to watch so that the account does not get reinserted. paw67
