    Guys, a quick question.

A friend applied for a Capital One card (Plat MC). He got it. Before he got the card, he received a bill for $59 (annual fee).

Being the typical non CN customer, he didn't read the fine print and didn't realize that there was an annual fee.

He did not pay the bill yet, and he did not activate the card.

If he calls\writes Capital One right now and kills the account, will he still be responsible for the annual fee?

    Thanks in advance,

    PawMix

THEY WILL CANCEL THE ACCOUNT AND CREDIT THE FEE...but it MUST be done in the FIRST MONTH...if it is months later...LATE FEES MAY NOT BE REFUNDED...

NOT ACTIVATING A CARD DOES NOT MAKE THE FEES GO AWAY...

Most credit cards have buried a "30 day" clause in the accountholder agreement. It may be buried under "OTHER PROVISIONS".
