Hiya, Mom! :) Good to see your name again! Is your mortgage reporting? Mine isn't but I'm getting offers all of a sudden referring to it so it must be showing up somewhere...only I have no clue where!

Hope all is well with you!

I got my current loan back when I still had that undpaid judgment on TU. Recently Cap One sent me an offer to refi for a higher rate than I have. Doh. I called to see what they could do. Nada.

Breeze! Hi! Can you give me an idea on timeframe here? I applied by their "invitation" on Friday the 12th? I know it says 7-10 days..but did it take that long for you to get a response?
    Thanks!

Well, look who it is! Hi Nana!!!!!

Capital One Auto Finance is a division of Capital One- the auto finance group is in Texas, though, not VA.

The consider themselves prime/sub-prime, although the majority of the loans are admittedly non-prime loans.

It was formed in 1998 and renamed 'loanmobile' last year. You can reach them directly at www.loanmobile.com .

They majority of their business is re-financing existing car loans, but they offer loans for both new and used vehicle purchases.

THERE IS A CATCH- you have to use one of their 'approved' dealers. You can't just go anywhere to get a car.

10% minimum down payment or 1,000, whichever is lower. Rebates can be included in this amount.

Rates are higher than a dealer can get you. I would see if they will gove you a quote based on your Cap One history, then shop the dealer.

    Good luck!

    Hope this helps!

Nana- the 'offers' you are getting are coming from a list of recently written loans- they are not coming from your credit.

Be careful, you are going to be getting a lot of papers that look 'official' with your Mtg Co name on them....most of them are junk insurance and warranty offers printed up to try and fool you into thinking your Mtg CO wants you to sign them.

My Mtg is only 2 yrs old, but it has been transferred FOUR times. I still get those 'letter' in the mail with the previous MYG CO's names on them. Sad!

Hope you are enjoying the house!

p.s. Mine did not show up on my reoprt until I called and asked them to report it and send me a payment record.

    Nana- One more thing.

Loanmobile lists a number you can call for the status of your loan, you might want to give it a try (just realized you already applied).

    1-877-733-4227 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

You can also log into the www.loanmobile.com site and check if you were issued a L/P.

    I have my fingers crossed!!!!!!

    You thinking Ferrari? Lamborghini? :)

Thanks, Shawn! LOL..I called and they said my application was not in their directory? What's that about? My credit report shows the inquiries! Ugh!

LOL..right now I'd be lucky to get a bicycle! teehee

Call them. That's what I did. Of course I didn't fill out the little paper, I called and talked to them. The reps are knowledgable - they can probably help. They just have me in one of their systems with that unpaid judgment, and I can't get out.

waste of time. I tried them and household and they gave me b/s rates.

Ended up with 7% at the audi dealer through chase manhattan bank they pulled my worst (580) TU report only. go figure.

Best rate was 14% with the online lenders..

Ok, called three different numbers...1 said I wasn't in their system, the other said their mailbox was full (the one given me by the lady that took my app), and the real person I talked to at the application center said that I had to call one of those 2 numbers that didn't work or wait as it had only been 8 business days. Sigh...thanks everyone!

Sheesh...sorry to hear about all the frustration!

Sam is right...a dealer will be able to give you a better rate.....Cap One is really better if you need to re-finance you car as most banks don't really want to mess with that.

Although, you never know, they may pull something out of their hat.

You won't really have a hard time getting a car loan....the home ownership really looks good to most auto finance companies.

Plus, it's a pretty good time to buy a car...the finance companies are all competing with their respective 0% deals and it's end of the model year, second level holdbacks are out.

Sam can tell you...he got a GREAT rate on a new Audi and his scores are 'bruised'.

As long as you have a little down or a positive equity trade you should be fine.

    Good luck!

Super words of encouragement...thanks! I needed that....will let you all know how this plays out..our car we have now is running fine..at 9%...we just wanted to help one of our daughters out and was going to pass the old one to her and get a newer (or a newer used) one...so we, luckily, don't have to panic...if it's good, we can say yes and if it is not..we will shop around. Thanks a million!
