Hello Everyone, I have relied on the expertise of so many of the wise ones on this board that I wanted to relay some good news! For the past 4 years I have been trying to get a Cap One charge-off off my credit reports. I had two of their credit cards in the 90s but never in the 20s (ha ha!). The card reflecting on my CR was from 2001. I truly did not believe this was not mine - and it wasn't! Essentially I called the Dispute Investigation division of Capital One and explained the situation. She was able to glean from what they had on file that it was indeed not my card and she deleted it from all 3 CRs. I had such a pleasant experience I would strongly recommend that people contact that division directly to sort out any problems.
