Okay i got the pre-approved "Reservation #" from cap 1 for gold card. is this gonna net me a $200 card? (btw today i got the denial in the mail for the cap 1 kmart card). if its any lower than my secured card, im not interested one bit.
RE: Capital one gold visa? wor btw, i've had the card for 9 months to this date , $800 line + $300 extended line, $99 security deposit. Seems pretty early to get unsecured from them no?
RE: You have a citibank? Sam-- I don't want to come off the wrong way, but how did you get a citibank card? (It must have been the income question).
RE: Capital one gold visa? wor Not necessarily. At this point you could easily get a Providian Gold, an Aria Persona (both carry exorbitant fees) and an Associates student card (w/ no annual fee). Aria and Associates both offer REAL instant approval online. Associates will be more stingy with credit increases, but will charge much less in fees & interest. Capital One wouldn't be a good choice today. Although their service is good, they charge a $39 gold annual fee and also very stingy with increases. Their APR, although 4%+ lower than Providian/ Aria, in still high. Of these 3, only the Associates offer a grace period. You just have to state the name of your school online, and that's it - you have their unsecured card fee free. Saar
RE: You have a citibank? Not quite sure.. my profile. 11K bad debt, 1-3 collections dependent on bureau. 8+ charge off's still on report. I do make $70K/year, have had the cap 1 for 9 months, aria for 2 months, and about 10 positive old tradelines including two auto loans paid in full from days of yore... Residence 6 months, job 9months.. thats my life. don't know why i got citibank AA (now platinum), but i did.
RE: Capital one gold visa? wor HEHE, im banned from associates bank at least thats what the collection agent told me about 3 weeks ago.. i told her to "F OFF, BEND OVER AND STICK THE DEBT IN YOU A.." She said "I take it your refusing to pay the account". I hung up. oh well.

RE: WOW! Wow! I guess consider yourself lucky. That's a lot of recent derogatory credit. Yeah, certainly the old stuff had to have helped, but, recent credit is poor, recent positives are new. I don't know about recent inquiries (past 6 months). Also, stability is fairly low (both under a year!) Hmmm. Again, I'm merely nit-picking. But wow, that was luck. And for anyone MISreading my response, I have Citibank - among other prime lenders - so I'm not writing out of jealousy...
